Welcome to Perfect Pair, a fanlisting dedicated to the relationship between the Fruits Basket characters Sohma Shigure and Sohma Ayame. Approved by: about shigure & ayame Both are members of the Sohma family and are afflicted with the family curse-- Shigure is the Dog and Ayame is the snake. Shigure lives away from the Sohma house. He works as a writer with a secret (read: not so secret) infatuation for high school girls. Ayame is a flamboyant clothes designer. His clothing store sells "male fantasies" by making all manner of costume. Ayame's personality is at best over the top.Shigure is well adapted to enduring it, however. The two of them have been friends since childhood. They went to school together and were part of a trio formed with Hatori. What makes Shigure and Ayame unique as a pair is the manner in which the two of them interact. They are obviously comfortable friends. They annoy Yuki and Kyou with their constant gay innuendos and flirting. They have fun together. They understand each other in a deep and meaningful way, in a way only made by years and years of dedicated friendship.
